In downtown Playa del Coco less than a mile away from Sleepy Cove, you’ll find a variety of great restaurants and nightlife hotspots. There are many other locations to explore in the neighboring towns.

Coco Plams

A Sleepy Cove favorite, this popular restaurant serves light, fresh sashimi and sushi. Diners can also try out other popular Japanese fare including teriyakis and tempuras. Also has great take out.

Father Rooster

Another Sleepy Cove favorite, in nearby Ocatol The Father Rooster is just a short drive from Coco and is the perfect spot to have a romantic dinner, a family meal, or a casual drink with friends.

Located in Playa Del Coco, this restaurant has great Costa-Rican breakfasts.

Marisquería La Guajira

Local seafood with a view of the sunset right on the beach! Open daily 10am-10pm.

Soda Pati

Located right next to Rich Coast Diving, tasty treats and typical dishes. Open M-F 7am-2pm.

Coco’s Seafood & Señor Pizza

Tasty pizza and local seafood with delivery available. Open daily 11am-11pm.

Restaurante El Sol y La Luna

Located in Playa Coco they serve Italian cuisine, handmade pasta and great Italian specials. Open 1pm-2:30pm and 5-10pm.

La Finesterra

Located in Playa Hermosa (the next beach north of Coco), this open air bistro and bar situated in a hotel has daily dinner specials, including fresh seafood, pastas and steaks.

Villa del Sueño

Also located in Playa Hermosa this is a Sleepy Cove favorite.

Ginger

Located in Playa Hermosa the food is an eclectic mix of modern takes on wide-ranging international fare, all served as tapas, meant to be shared while sampling some of the many cocktails and wines served here.

Lizard Lounge

A favorite among locals and tourists alike with a mixture of reggae and dance music. Open Monday thru Saturday from 3pm-2am.

Banana Surf Bar and Restaurant

The place to be to get down to techno, reggae, disco, and salsa. Open daily 5pm-3am.

Disco Coco Mar

In Coco, this is a partially open air disco on the beach in Coco where you can dance the night away into the wee hours to Latin and American dance rhythms. Begins to crank up about 10 p.m. especially on the weekends.

Bananas Bar

Located in Coco next to the bank this is another late night spot offering dancing and pool tables.
The Jungle Bar and Cave
In Coco, at the entrance of town this is a happening new place with bars upstairs and downstairs.

Roger’s Bar

In Coco, this beach bar for real late niters. It’s funky and real. Adventurers love its rustic beach atmosphere.

The Monkey Bar

Located in Playa Hermosa, this gorgeous soaring thatched hut bar owned by Chris and Tricia from California and Colorado where on the weekends there is often live music, not to mention live monkeys in the trees. Lots of tourists and locals gather here.
