Located near the Nicaraguan boarder is the famous, perfect right river mouth point break of Potrero Grande. It is also named Ollie’s Point because an airstrip nearby was used by US Colonel Olivier North to land weapons for the Nicaraguan Contras. It’s a fast, hollow wave breaking over a rocky bottom. Best conditions at outgoing to mid low tide and S-SW swell with offshore winds and waves from 3 – 8ft. No facilities and access only by boat from Playas del Coco.
